No, not the subject. The show. Do you watch it? Until last night I'd never seen it but after the Big Brother 10 dramarama I needed something to fill my TV void. So I settled back with my glass of 3 Blind Moose and
Supernatural.
First thing I saw: two cuties in their early 20's in a log cabin, one settling into an armchair while chugging a beer. Raised an eyebrow. Within ten seconds demons were mentioned. Aaaand I was in. It helped that the guy with the short hair reminds me of Wentworth Miller. If I were a boy, I'd want to look like those two.
I remember thinking that the story is simple - as in it's not Tolkien-level - but well-written. I didn't have a clue what was happening but they dropped enough drama clues that I know Dean - who according to Elle used to be on Days of Our Lives - made some deal with a demon and now he's dying and going to Hell?
Wait, stop. That is such a friggin cool plot. It's just. . . delivered. He is going to hell. Not an eyebrow raised. Kind of reminds me of
The Sandman when Lucifer just up and left Hell. Hell is a place and it's there and you're going there. End of story.
But apparently each brother in his own way is trying to keep Dean from going to Hell. That was the major plot point of the episode I saw, anyway. Sam was seeking the secret to immortality from a freaky guy stealing people's organs in his sheds
a la Doctor Moreau - you know, they're still awake when he cuts them - while Dean's off chasing a hot British demon who has some artifact he needs to destroy. (Or so I guessed.) Oh, and apparently she killed the brothers' parents? They showed some fucked up flashback of her where it appeared that some guy was about to sexually abuse her?? Making me think it was Dean and Sam's father. His righteous fury over the murder of "good people" and the jaded, dark expression in her eyes heavily suggested to me that that was the gist the writer(s) was making.
I think I like this show! I'm going to watch it again and see. Meanwhile, I'm going to catch up on the major plot points!
